Welcome to HappyCaff! Picture this: two enthusiastic marketing majors, fueled by caffeine and a desire to create the ultimate cafe experience for students like us. Our journey started in a cozy Tacoma cafe, where the idea for HappyCaff was born. Merriah originally had this idea while working at a cafe in Tacoma and decided to share it with Isaiah as a project idea since we are both marketing majors, entrepreneurial and highly enthusiastic about coffee! As students ourselves, we know the struggle of finding the perfect study spot – from dim lighting to noisy environments and the dreaded lack of outlets! But fear not, because we’re here to help you navigate the cafe scene with our honest reviews and recommendations. Hello ladies and gentlemen it ‘s yours truly Isaiah!!! You must have heard of me before, I’m always that guy in your corner talking about absolute nonsense and laughing all the time with a cup of damn good coffee in my hand. If i don’t have coffee in the morning don’t talk to me or I will go wildin off like the wild west. Hahahaha just kidding, maybe. In all seriousness, I’m very excited to start off this coffee blog alongside Merriah (a coffee genius I must say!). I am highly looking forward to exploring and discovering cafes, meeting new people, and sharing my experience with you guys and building a community!!! Calling you “guys” sounds strange… HELP me think of a name to call you! HappyCaffers? Calfs? Caffy’s? Happy Bean Society? Lol I don’t know, help me decide and we will develop it over time! My journey and fascination with coffee began during my sophomore year of high school. My late night study sessions demanded me to keep awake and focused, and coffee helped me through it and absolutely ruined my sleep schedule. But UM who cares because the coffee tasted so so good and brings out the vibes in me especially when I’m listening to music at the same time. Listening to some old school Mariah Carey and classical music while drinking coffee is an absolute VIBE and will cure your depression! Have you tried? Lol. Coffee for me ultimately is a social activity and has never been just a drink to me. If anybody were to ask me where to go to eat or drink I will 100% of the time always choose a cafe for hang outs, dates, study sessions, and everything in between! If you reject my decision to have coffee and chat… well bye forever, nice knowing you lol. I remember my first time walking into my local cafe near where I was living at the time 7 years ago and chatting everyone up on how their day was going over coffee finding out new information everyday! There are some crazy stories to tell if you were to ask me directly! I’ve met new friends, romantic partners, and funny old people in cafes and I love the memories I make! In terms of cafe atmosphere I love fancy, sophisticated, and cozy cafes where I can comfortably study and talk to people. With that being said Me and Merriah are very excited to explore coffee shops and tell you about all the BEST ones and the OH SO BAD ones! Merriah:
Well hi there, thanks for reading first and foremost. I am Merriah but you can call me Riah, whichever works. This is HappyCaff’s first blog post and I couldn’t be more excited to tell you all about what Isaiah and I discover and learn from these cafes! I am OH SO passionate about coffee, like borderline fanatical but we’ll save that for later. Of course my journey started as your local barista in Tacoma and then later turned into a home barista passion with my Gaggia. I no longer work as a barista so rest assured my reviews are only a little biased (totally joking!). I plan to use this brand as part of my professional portfolio as a marketer but I also just think this would be super fun and a great way to meet people that are like-minded. Coffee and tea are one of those special things in my life that started early on with my mom when she was in college. She would take me to her classes everyday and we would get coffees together before/after (mine was decaf so don’t cancel her). This has always been a special memory for me and it gives me this nostalgic feeling when I go to cafes now. I feel like this blog should be informative about caffeine in general, cafes, coffee beans, and something you just enjoy reading on the side.
