“For people looking for a sad childhood story that showcases the process of how the main character overcomes her setbacks. Inspiring and may be relatable to you.” - HappyCaff

Sad but an engaging book with positive messages in between! The first time I read this book It left me wondering about what I would do if I was in her childhood situation in her book. It was engaging enough for me to read it a second time and really pause to take time to observe the messages being sent throughout in the books. Throughout the book the mother staying in South Koreas sends letter to her child in California that she had abandoned for a career. The author does a really good job on displaying the feeling of both characters and I would give this one a read as it makes you really think from new perspectives.
